Bernard Toutounji is an Australian writer, speaker and commentator.
Bernard holds a Bachelor of Theology from the Catholic Institute of Sydney and a Master of Theology from the John Paul II Institute for Marriage and the Family, Melbourne. He has undertaken further studies at St Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Theological College, Sydney and at the Theology of the Body Institute, Pennsylvania, USA. He is a member of the Australasian Catholic Press Association and the Catholic Press Association of the United States and Canada.
Bernard writes a syndicated column, www.foolishwisdom.com dealing with issues of anthropology, morality and truth. His articles have been seen in both print and online mediums including The Daily Telegraph, The Punch, The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald, CathNews, Online Opinion, National Catholic Register, MercatorNet and Crisis Magazine. The articles can also be heard as podcasts on Xt3.com and Cradio.org.au.
Bernard tutors in theology at a university level and has co-authored a book titled Family and Human Life. Bernard serves as a sub deacon in the Melkite Catholic Church.
In 2012 Bernard married Jane and in the months leading up to the wedding he wrote a weekly record of his journey at www.proposaltomarriage.com. These entries were published in The Catholic Weekly Sydney and recorded as podcasts for Xt3 and Cradio.
